Supervision and Mentoring Services

It all started when I was offered an opportunity…

Eight years ago a social worker that I admired the work of very much offered me the chance to be mentored by her, she gave me the opportunity to work with her, contract my services to her organisation, and she would supervise and mentor me through the process.

Whilst I no longer contract to that organisation, I have always been so grateful to be supported in my leap in to private practice. As time has gone on, and I’ve gone out on my own, and I’ve been growing Phoenix slowly but surely, making some mistakes too (which are for learning, right??). I’ve supervised a number of social workers in this time in a variety of roles such as working in family services, and mentoring some in to private practice. I’ve also had several students on placement with me over the past three years, and I’ve absolutely loved having them here with me, watching them learn and grow, try new things, and eventually emerge from placement ready for the next challenges that come that way (for example some returning to work with me as a contractor!).

Because of this passion, I’ve decided to start offering my services as a supervisor and mentor for social workers, practitioners of psychotherapy such as counsellors, and other allied health professionals, in particular those who want to go in to private practice. A peer mentoring group is also being offered, as well as an opportunity to contract with me for twelve months in order to build your business. Once the contract is complete, you will be ready to stop contracting at Phoenix and take your clients and work for yourself, renting your own room etc (of course you are quite welcome to sign another contract with me if you choose!). If you are a social worker looking towards mental health accreditation, we can absolutely do that too.

Fees

Mentoring and Supervision Sessions (one-on-one) - $170 per hour

Peer Mentoring and Supervision Sessions $60 per hour (up to 5 participants per group)
