Hello I am Bonnie (she/her), I was born in Albury and lived in Wodonga during my adolecent years, I have lived in many different areas around Australia throughout my childhood and young adulthood. I made the decision to move back to this beautiful area 10 years ago to raise my three children. I love getting out in nature whether it be sitting by the river with a good book, or fossicking for gems and prospecting around Eldorado and surrounds. Music and dancing soothe my soul, as well as snuggling on the couch with my cats and dogs with a good movie.

I have a Master's of Social Work degree and a Bachelor of Human Services degree obtained through La Trobe University and I am an AASW registered social worker, specialising in mental health. With over 10 years experience working within the community services sector in areas such as homelessness, out of home care, family violence and child, youth and family services, my experiences includes providing crisis support, mental health, group and counselling services to children, youth, individuals, parents/ carers and families, which is sensitive, respectful and trauma informed.

I have extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults who have lived experience of trauma, anxiety, depression and PTSD. As a permanant kinship carer to my third child, I have lived experience and understanding of service interventions and complexities unique to carers in the foster and kinship care system.

I acknowledge the amount of trust and vulnerability it takes to engage in counselling (for an individual as well as for parents with their child). I also recognise the importance and value of building a trusting therapeutic alliance with the person, which is open, compassionate, person centred and non-judgmental. I utilise a range of different modalities, approaches and lenses in practice, which is dependent on each person’s individual need and circumstance. These can include: Trauma Informed, Attachment, Feminist, Psychodynamic, Solution Focused, Cognitive Behavioural, Acceptance and Commitment, Narrative and Sand Tray Therapy.

I utilise a Holistic and Strength Based Approach with all people I work with, with the recognition that everyone has individual strengths and resources, and to see the multidimensional levels of the whole person.

Available Tuesdays in Albury.
