Hello I am Leanne (she/her),

I grew up in the big smoke and spent school holidays on a family farm in the Indigo Valley. Always being around family, I remember being fascinated by my Aunties alter and forever asking anyone the ‘real’ questions about the meaning of life and listening intently on their unique perspective. This is where my interest in people began and continues to this day.

I have experienced a variety of careers, mostly in the Community Services Sector, supporting people from varied backgrounds and in community health - therapeutic mental health issues…And in the last decade, I found my ‘forever home’ as an Art Therapist.

Graduating as a Transpersonal Art Therapist, I eagerly commenced work for MacKillop Family Services for young people from a refugee background, alongside this as a sole practitioner focusing on community group work and in private practice. My training combined talk-based therapy and my ‘extra-special’ handy toolbox containing different art materials and non- art-based expressive therapies. I have gone on to earn dual credentials as a Mindfulness Practitioner, Mental Health First Aid Instructor, and a range of certifications within Tertiary and Corporate Industries.

Focusing on Art Therapy as my main modality, I believe in a sensitive and compassionate approach in my work. I hold a gentle space for individuals to ‘in their own time’ self-express, in order to understand more about themself. My focus is supporting individuals to re-build fractured patterns and to self-regulate emotions. I have a special interest in tailoring workshops, group sessions, retreats and 1:1 with adults, supporting life transition, grief and loss, stress and burnout and general wellbeing.

What I like about Art Therapy is that you can use any expressive therapy: writing, collage, lyrics, clay, music, etc. I have partaken in Art Therapy and other varied modalities and my personal experience has strengthened my belief and commitment to genuinely respect the trust that this profession has allowed me to empower and support you all.

In my spare time I enjoy being creative, exploring in nature, watching the chooks pottering about, meandering in the hills skipping to the ‘sound of music’ and spending time with people I enjoy. I have recently returned to where my roots are, to focus solely on private practice and subcontracting and could not be happier to share my gift with you all!
