Art Therapy in Schools

Phoenix Wings Wellness is proud to now offer specialised Art Therapy Programs for schools across Victoria. We have worked with many schools in the past to bring creative, therapeutic support directly to students, and we are excited to continue expanding this important service.

What is Art Therapy in Schools?

Art therapy is a creative and therapeutic process where children use art-making as a way to explore feelings, build resilience, and develop self-awareness. It provides a safe and supportive environment for students to express themselves in ways that words alone may not allow.

In the school setting, art therapy can:

  • Support emotional regulation and wellbeing.

  • Encourage positive self-expression and self-esteem.

  • Strengthen problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Provide a safe space for creativity, reflection, and healing.

What We Do With Students

During our school-based art therapy sessions, students are guided by Mel - an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AASW) and Registered Creative Arts Therapist (ANZACATA). Through structured activities and open-ended art-making, children are encouraged to:

  • Explore…………

  • Express …………………

  • Work both individually and in small groups.

  • Develop coping skills, mindfulness, and grounding techniques.

Each session is 50 minutes and designed to be engaging, accessible, and adaptable to different age groups and learning needs.

Our 6-Week School Program

We offer a 6-week art therapy program, with one session per week (50 minutes each). This structure provides students with consistency and time to build trust, explore creative processes, and develop skills over time.

What’s Included in Our Program Fee

Our program cost covers everything required to deliver high-quality art therapy in schools, including:

  • All necessary art materials for students.
