Renee is a passionate advocate and support for neurodivergent adults and their families (particularly women) who have been diagnosed later in life. Renee was diagnosed in her late 30’s and struggled to find support and information that was relevant to her as an adult. This started a journey of unmasking and a passion to understand herself and support others in the same situation.

Renee completed a Bachelor of Social Science (psychology) before moving into the Alcohol and Other Drugs sector where she worked for over 10 years as both a counsellor and team leader. Renee is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing and takes a holistic approach to best suit her clients.

Her passion is watching people grow and this extends to those in a professional setting. Renee has provided clinical supervision to professionals in the Alcohol and Other Drugs sector. She has also worked closely with Neurodivergent individuals in the workplace to set up plans support the unique needs of these individuals. She is available for consultancy with businesses and organisations on how to manage accommodations with neurodivergent individuals.

Renee has always had a creative streak however supressed this as part of her masking for many years. After her diagnosis, Renee has reconnected with her creative passions including writing, photography, knitting and crocheting to name a few. Renee’s goal in life is to bring people together and build a community whereby to support and normalise what it means to be diagnosed with neurodivergence at a later age along with the messy unmasking period. She uses creative writing her main medium, you can read more on her blog at:
