Hey there! My name is Jade McCoy-Bevan, I am a practising counsellor and have been working within the community service sector for over 10 years.

I was born in Wodonga and grew up in the area attending school and studying.

I started working within this industry because of my strong focus on advocacy, social justice and systems change. I am particularly drawn to mental health and therapeutic work.

Throughout my time in this industry, my path eventually lead me into the role of counselling. Counselling provides me a platform where I can work with people exercising my particular passion of exploring how to achieve someone's personal goals while supporting their mental health and well-being.

I am an experienced Child and Adolescent counsellor, having over 10 years experience within the social services industry, with the majority of my work being within the Mental Health, Family Violence and Homelessness sector - particularly with Children, Youth and Families.

I have worked in various roles over the years which include mental health (in therapeutic roles and clinical roles), homelessness, education, supporting Young Parents and counselling. These roles have utilised frameworks of case management, care coordination and therapeutic work.

My particular lens in therapeutic work is mostly guided by my practice framework based on the psychodynamic theory. I use a number of approaches in my work with a specific interest in family systems work, strengths based approach, attachment theory, didactic work and a humanistic lens.

I enjoy spending time with my family while socialising with our loved ones, trying new food, getting outdoors, trying and buying local produce, podcasts and watching movies or reading. I am currently completing my Masters of Counselling and have further study goals to complete a Masters of Social Work.
