Louisa Mills - Master of Counselling Student (Albury)
Areas of interest:
ACT
Narrative therapy
Creative and Play therapies
Gender diverse young people
Hey there, I'm Louisa (she/her).
I work with children, young people and families, especially when life feels uncertain, overwhelming or difficult to navigate. With me, counselling is a warm, accepting and creative safe space where you can be yourself, feel heard, and explore what works for you.
I bring curiosity, empathy and openness to my work, and I don't believe there is one right way to learn, communicate, cope or grow. I enjoy adapting the way we work together to suit each person, whether that involves conversation, creativity, play or simply having space to work things through.
I'm particularly interested in supporting children and young people experiencing anxiety, as well as gender-diverse young people and their families. My own life experiences have shaped my understanding of how complex change can be, not only for an individual, but for the people who care about them too.
I'm particularly drawn to ACT, Narrative, Holistic, Creative and Play therapies, which allow for a diversity of approaches.
I enjoy music, art, reading and having fun with my kiddos. I am very fond of the colour purple, shopping and eating good food (especially chocolate). More than anything, I hope people experience me as a genuine, compassionate and non-judgemental person, with a side of humour and creativity.
