The Empathy Edge Workshop

Do you and/or your team members frequently encounter clients or customers who are distressed or experiencing a crisis? Whether you’re in finance, retail, beauty, hospitality, or administration, these moments can be challenging. Feeling equipped to handle them effectively is not just good customer service—it's essential for everyone’s well-being.

Imagine your staff confidently recognising signs of distress, responding with genuine compassion, and knowing exactly where to refer someone for the support they need. Our Empathy Edge Workshop empowers your team to do just that.

In This Practical Workshop, Your Team Will Learn To:

  • Spot the Signs: Quickly recognize distress and crisis situations.

  • Respond with Heart: Communicate effectively and compassionately in challenging moments.

  • Connect to Support: Confidently refer individuals to appropriate services.

  • Set Healthy Boundaries: Protect themselves and stay safe while helping others.

  • Practice Reflection: Debrief effectively and engage in reflective practice.

  • Prioritise Self-Care: Develop strategies for aftercare, wellbeing, and avoiding vicarious trauma.

As a Result, Your Team Will:

  • Gain Essential Skills: Have the basic skills to support someone in distress and guide them to the right resources.

  • Ensure Safety First: Learn to establish clear boundaries to protect their own well-being.

  • Build Resilience: Develop self-care practices to prevent vicarious trauma and maintain their own mental health, reducing the reliance on managers and EAP.

Who Should Attend?

This workshop is highly recommended for anyone in a customer-facing role or who regularly interacts with clients who may be in crisis. Perfect for teams in:

  • Finance Services and Administration

  • Retail (especially florists, pet supplies, etc.)

  • Beauty & Hair Services

  • Hospitality and Pubs

  • Support Co-ordinators and Support Workers

Please Note: This is not a counsellor training program. It’s designed to provide essential, practical skills for anyone who finds themselves in these "accidental counselling" situations.

Invest in your team's well-being and confidence. Equip them to handle challenging interactions with grace and effectiveness.
